Biography / Councillor Ward 1 - Linda M. Morad
Councillor Linda M. Morad Linda Morad was first elected to the New Bedford City Council in November 2003. The daughter of Attorney George and Florence Morad, she is a lifelong resident of the City of New Bedford, raised in the north end and educated in the New Bedford Public Schools. She graduated from Providence College in 1976, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospital Administration. She continues to be an active member of the Providence College Alumni Association, where she recently served several terms on the Alumni Board of Governors. Additionally, Councillor Morad is an active member of several local community organizations, to include the Rotary Club, YWCA, Your Theatre, Paint Your Heart Out, and our Lady of Purgatory Church.

In addition to her City Council duties Councillor Morad is employed by The North End Business Association, where she is the Executive Director.

COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIPS:Chairman of the Committee on Ordinances and the Special Committee on the Airport; Assigned as the City Council Representative to the City of New Bedford Condominium Review Board.

Member of the following Committees: Appointments and Briefings; City Property; Dog Park; Environmental Affairs; Finance; Memorials & Dedications; and Public Safety.
