2 Whaling Museum

Visitors May climb aboard the largest ship model in the world. Then, explore the galleries and exhibits which tell the story of the City's rich maritime history, through fine art and artifacts, paintings an dprints, period rooms, dolls and toys. Open year round, seven days a week 9 AM - 5 PM. During summer months open on Thursday's 9 AM - 8 PM. Admission fee.
3 Seamen's Bethel
Across from the Whaling Museum - 508- 992-3295
The Bethel, or Whalemen's Chapel, was built in 1832. It was the setting for the most famous chapter in Moby Dick, with Father Mapple's sermon. Open year-round.
4 Rotch-Jones-Duff House & Garden Museum
396 County Street - 508- 997-1401
This handsome 1834 Greek Revival mansion has been restored to reflect the life and times of the three families who occupied the house. The museum is open Monday-Saturday 10 AM - 4 PM; Sunday 1 PM - 4 PM

6 Fire Museum

The museum features vintage horse drawn engines, uniforms to try on, bells to ring, even a brass pole to slide down. Open during summer months 9 AM - 4 PM, Monday - Sunday. Admission fee.

This historic (1894) schooner sailed as fishing schooner, Arctic explorer, and immigrant packet. Visitors are welcome whenever she is in port, to view, climb aboard for a tour or even schedule for a day sail.
