What we do
Long Wharf Visitors Center The City of New Bedford Office of Tourism and Marketing promotes the city's historical destinations, cultural attractions and events in partnership with those organizations and New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park. The office also operates the Waterfront Visitor Center, at the city's historic Wharfinger Building, once the port's fish auction house for New Bedford's famed commercial fishing fleet. The Waterfront Visitor Center is located on Fisherman's Wharf (old City Pier #3) in the heart of New Bedford's working waterfront. Under the direction of Mayor Scott W. Lang, the office also conducts work in the following areas:

  2. General attraction brochures production and distribution
  3. Tradeshow & Conference participation promoting the city
  4. Customized information packets for group tour, business inquires, and conferences

Travel directions to the Waterfront Visitor Center:
Take I-195 to Exit 15 (Route 18 South - Downtown). At the second traffic light, take a LEFT (be in the left lane). Take a sharp LEFT onto MacArthur Drive. Take your next RIGHT onto Fisherman's Wharf (old City Pier #3). We'll have our code flags hoisted in your honor!
