Press Release

The Human Rights Commission of New Bedford is offering to the schools and community organizations the opportunity to utilize the film series” Race: The Power of an Illusion” as a venue for conversations and discussions on diversity.

The film series is provided as a guide by the W.K.Kellogg Foundation and is a unique opportunity for conversations with faculty, parents and students on the significance of race as an issue in our society. The series comes with a question guide, potential lesson guide and is a great tool for thinking and addressing this issue within our school district.

I strongly encourage school leaders to review the materials and use this resource as a departure point for conversations for January and for Black History month. For further information please contact the human relations office at (508)979-1464
