The City of New Bedford has roadwork sites for this upcoming week of
February 6, 2012 – February 10, 2012 and they are as follows:

The City of New Bedford - Department of Public Infrastructure

FK (RT 18) Highway Improvement Project

• Please be aware of in pending detours and traffic delay in Route 18 – all residents should seek alternate routes.

• The Route 6 eastbound ramp on Route 18 will be closed.

• Traffic signals changing at the intersection of Union and Route 18 will remain the same.

• The pedestrian ramp off of Route 6 Bridge will be closed on the South side access only available on the North side. Another left  puts you on Route 6 eastbound

• North and South bound travel lanes have both shifted between Elm and Walnut St.

Interceptor Grit Project

• Installation of a sewer access manhole and water main relocations will be ongoing along South Second St between Rivet St and Potomska St.
  
  
• Sewer repairs will be complete along MacArthur Dr between South St and Walnut St.

• Northbound traffic will be detoured via Purchase St.

New Bedford / Fairhaven Bridge:

• Please be aware of detours and traffic delays, follow detour signs posted

• Roadway demolition on Route 6 New Bedford / Fairhaven Bridge.

• Shifting East and West lane travel towards the North side of the road way.

Other:

• Nstar Gas replacing gas main and services on Mill St between Park St and Rockdale Ave / as well as, Mill St between Park St to Cottage St
  
  
• Department of Infrastructure -Replacing sewer main on Reynolds St between Linden St and Weld St
