Seasonal influenza (flu) vaccines protect against the four influenza viruses that research indicates will be most common during the upcoming season. Everyone 6 months and older should get an influenza (flu) vaccine every season, with rare exceptions.

The New Bedford Health Department offers Flu vaccines (standard and high-dose) on-site in the Quest Center at 1213 Purchase Street, by appointment.

The Health Department also can visit homebound residents to give a flu shot, by appointment.

Flu shots are free with an insurance card and $10 without an insurance card.

To schedule a vaccination appointment with the New Bedford Health Department, call the department’s main line, 508-991-6199, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday to Friday.
