Bristol County Savings Bank awards $20,000 grant as sponsor of New Bedford’s Holiday Happenings & City Celebrates! New Year’s Eve

Bristol County Savings Bank (BCSB), through its charitable foundation, awarded a $20,000 grant today to the City of New Bedford as part of the Bank’s role as overall sponsor of the current Holiday Happenings and City Celebrates! New Year’s Eve! festivities. The community has enjoyed a couple weekends of exciting and engaging programming which all lead up to a host of family fun activities to ring in 2019 on Monday, December 31st, including the traditional fireworks display.

This year’s programming includes street performers, stilt walkers, jugglers, fire-eaters, living art, puppetry, ice sculptures, music and more. A full listing of all events is located at The New Year’s Eve festivities will include a spectacular fireworks display on the waterfront at 8:30 p.m.

“It’s our ninth consecutive year of being the lead sponsor of City Celebrates! so it’s been fun to see the event grow and become a great New Bedford tradition for the community to enjoy and ring in the New Year,” said Patrick J.
