Notice of Intent to Apply for US EPA Brownfields Cleanup Grants

The City of New Bedford intends to submit proposals for two US Environmental Protection Agency Brownfields Cleanup Grants to support cleanup activities at two separate brownfield Sites at 175 Ash St. and 29 Brook St.. The draft proposals, including draft Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives documents, which include a general description of cleanup options to be considered if the projects are funded, will be available for public review and comment beginning on November 8, 2017.  The draft proposals will be available on the City of New Bedford Environmental Stewardship website at:

Hard copies of the draft proposals are available for review at the City’s Environmental Stewardship Department, Room 304 in City Hall, 133 William Street, New Bedford, MA, Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

The City will hold a public meeting on Tuesday November 14, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the New Bedford Library at 613 Pleasant Street, New Bedford, MA. An overview of the proposals will be presented and questions and comments will be solicited. The City will accept comments on the draft proposal until 12:00 p.m. on November 15, 2017.
