Mayor Mitchell Reveals Winning Design Selected for North Front Street Public Mural Project

New Bedford, Massachusetts –Mayor Jon Mitchell announced today the design chosen for the new public mural that will be painted on the walls of a North Front Street overpass later this spring. The winning design, entitled “School of Cod”, features a colorful school of cod fish swimming through a sea of Elm trees.

Groundwork is a new small business seeking to bring the coworking revolution to the City of New Bedford. Groundwork’s creators, Sarah Athanas and Dena Haden, are working with the New Bedford Economic Development Council to create a shared office space where local entrepreneurs, freelancers, and remote workers can meet, collaborate, and work in a positive and productive environment. Groundwork members will enjoy ample lighting and comfortable work stations with fast internet, printing and mailing services, and free coffee and snacks. Although Groundwork is building its membership before opening a physical space, they hope to open its doors in late summer or early fall.
