T.V. Inspection Test and Seal Vehicle
In 1993, the Division received delivery of a T.V. Inspection Test and Seal System. This vehicle is used to identify problem areas in the collection system and initiate spot repairs without the expensive guess work associated to digging blind.
A video camera is inserted into a piping system through manholes and entire sections of sewer can be video taped for review to identify problems at exact locations for dig-up and repair. The system also has a joint sealing capability that allows maintenance crews to seal leaking pipe joints that eliminate costly inflow and infiltration (I & I) into the collection system.
In response to the Divisions improved capabilities to identify Collection system problems the Waste Water Division established a sewer excavation crew to initiate spot repairs to the sewer system
