Bring your surplus paint to the Shawmut Avenue Recycling Center - Closed October 10, 2009 reopens April 19, 2010

LATEX PAINT

What is acceptable

  • Interior and exterior paint
  • Water-based paint tubes

How to prepare

  • Keep in original container tightly sealed
  • Label contents if original label is illegible
  • Pack cans and/or tubes in carton or box

What is unacceptable

  • Mixing paints
  • Packing in trash bags
  • Unmarked or illegible containers
  • Pre-frozen paint (pop lid, let dry, place in trash)
  • Evaporated paint

OIL PAINT

What is acceptable

  • Interior and exterior oil-based alkyd paint
  • Oil-based paint tubes

How to prepare

  • Keep in original container tightly sealed
  • Label contents if original label is illegible
  • No creosol
  • Label if lead based
  • Pack cans in carton
  • Pack tubes in carton
  • No unmarked or illegible containers

Do not include

  • No mixing paints
  • No solidified oil-based paints
