City of New Bedford seeks public input on cable license through August 31

New Bedford, Massachusetts– The City of New Bedford, as issuing authority for a cable television license for the city, continues to seek public input as part of its public hearing on the consideration process for a new cable license. Two public meetings were held on the license, on June 20 and July 31. As part of the public hearing, the City continues to seek input from the residents of New Bedford on the cable contract.

The purpose of the consideration process is to determine whether to issue a cable television license to Comcast Cable Communications, Inc. Members of the public are invited to write to the City on whether the current cable operator is in full compliance with its currently existing cable license; and what the City’s future community cable-related needs are.

The public may submit comments in writing to the City by email at cable@newbedford-ma.gov, or by mail at to the Office of the City Solicitor (Attention: Cable Contract), City Hall, 133 William Street, 02740. Comments in writing should be received no later than Saturday, August 31, 2019.
