DROP-OFF AT THE RECYCLING CENTER
The Recycling Center is located at 1103 Shawmut Avenue and is for New Bedford residents only.
Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Proof of residency is required.
Only residential material generated within the boundaries of the City of New Bedford is accepted at the facility.

Not Accepted
- Construction & demolition debris such as the waste from building material and rubble resulting from the construction, remodeling, repair or demolition of buildings or other structures. Includes sheet rock, lumber, and wood waste.
- Special Waste – Materials such as sewage solids, radioactive wastes, pathogenic wastes, explosive materials, chemicals liquid wastes or other material of hazardous nature or materials requiring special handling or procedures for disposal.

Right to Refuse Service:
The City reserves the right to refuse Commercial and Passenger Vehicles, Dual and/or Single Axle trailers, over-sized loads, and/or improperly sorted load(s). All visits should not surpass 10 minutes to off-load material(s).
