CDBG-CV and ESG-CV FUNDING – SUBSTANTIAL AMENDMENT
CDBG-CV AND ESG-CV FUNDING
The City of New Bedford’s Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) has received Community Development Block Grant – COVID (CDBG-CV) funds and Emergency Solutions Grant –COVID (ESG-CV) funds for use in preventing, preparing for, and responding to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). This allocation was authorized by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), Public Law 116-136, which was signed on March 27, 2020, to respond to the growing effects of the COVID Pandemic.
The City of New Bedford has been awarded CDBG-CV and ESG-CV funding from the CARES Act through the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD). New Bedford’s CDBG-CV allocation is $1,624,151 and its ESG-CV allocation is $805,424.
The award and use of these funds necessitated a substantial amendment to the city’s existing FY19 Action Plan that is undertaken through a public process administered by the city’s OHCD. In addition to a public meeting (held virtually via ZOOM) about the process and funding availability, the OHCD issued two RFPs through which it solicited grant applications for CDBG-CV and ESG-CV activities. Applications for funding were available electronically through this website. The public meeting was conducted via Zoom on Thursday, June 11th at 6.00pm.
A copy of the meeting materials, RFPs and RFP instructions are available to the public on this website, below.
