SUMMER READING PROGRAMS @ THE LIBRARY
Summer reading activities are held at your local library to encourage children to continue with their learning throughout the summer.
How the program works:
Children are asked to read a minimum of 5 hours to earn a free book and certificate at the end of the six-week summer program. The book will be given out at our final party.
When they come in each week, we will record how many hours they have read. For every 30 minutes they get a sticker to place on the reading log we placed in their Summer Reading bag at sign-up.
At each program we have a prize box for the participants to earn a weekly prize for reading. At the end of the summer, the top boy and girl receive a grand prize.
Each week, the activity will include reading stories, crafts and meeting community heroes. Check with your local branch for more details and to see who the special guests are!
