CITY OF NEW BEDFORD

ASSESSING DEPARTMENT

 

The City of New Bedford is publishing the proposed valuations for Fiscal 2017 as required by the Department of Revenue upon receiving preliminary certification of values.

The publication of these values meets the requirement for Public Notice in a mandatory triennial revaluation year.

The proposed FY 2017 property values will be available for review beginning Friday, October 28, 2016 through Friday, November 4, 2016 at City Hall, Room 109 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. They will also be available at each branch of the public library. The hours for the main library are 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Monday through Thursday; Friday and Saturday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. FY2017 Proposed Property Values

Fiscal 2017 property valuations are based on market analysis of comparative market sales and income and expense data from Calendar 2015 and 2014 per statistical analysis requirements of the Department of Revenue. The overall value change for the City of New Bedford is an increase of approximately 4%.

A taxpayer wishing to question his/her new assessment should inquire at the Assessor’s Office at City Hall, Room 109 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday on or before Friday, November 4, 2016.
