Port of New Bedford has a new Harbormaster
New Bedford, Massachusetts- Mayor Jon Mitchell and The Harbor Development Commissioners unanimously supported the appointment of David Condon as the candidate to fill the Harbormaster position.
Earlier in May City Council confirmed his appointment. Condon is an experienced deck officer who spent a decade sailing tank ships valued in excess of $500 million on domestic and international routes.
He has also held positions at the Steamship Authority and as Assistant Harbormaster in Yarmouth. He is a 2005 graduate of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy… read more
Mayor Mitchell Presents Fiscal year 2016 Budget for City of New Bedford
New Bedford, Massachusetts – The Mayor’s $297 million budget plan reduces spending at non-public safety agencies by 1.2% percent while providing a 2.1% increase for the School Department to support the ongoing turnaround of the school system and comply with state law.

Study Finds Big Jump In Economic Impact and Job-Growth at New Bedford Airport
New Bedford, Massachusetts – According to the most recent update of an economic impact study prepared by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) Aeronautics Division, the New Bedford Regional Airport is posting sizable gains.
